But its benefits extend well beyond the health realm. You can harness the beauty benefits of tea and give yourself a tea facial for glowing and flawless looking skin.

Tea facials are already available at many spas and beauty clinics, but you can easily do one at home and here’s how:

Cleanse Your Face

The first step in a steaming tea facial is to cleanse your face thoroughly. You don’t have to use any special cleanser, but just make sure that it won’t irritate your face. Wash and pat dry. You’ll want to make sure that you remove all of your makeup.

Boil Water

Place some water in a pot or kettle and bring to a boil.

Choose A Tea

Once the water is boiled, tip a handful of tea in a pot or bowl. You can use a variety of regular herbal tea brands. Green tea, peppermint, and chamomile tea are some great options.

Position Your Face

Place your face over the bowl with the tea and water mixture and then cover your head with a towel so that it creates a mini tent. Relax and breathe in the aroma for about five to 10 minutes to let your pores open up. Be very careful, as hot steam can burn skin quickly. If the water is too hot, it’s best to let it cool for a few minutes.

Use A Mask

Once your pores are open, use a detoxifying clay or charcoal mask to draw out any more impurities in your face.

Moisturise

After you rinse off the mask, follow up with a moisturiser to hydrate your skin. And if you have extra tea left over, you can always pour it into a bath so that you can relax and soak in it!
